This page explains how to request deletion of your data from CRIYO, as required by Meta's Platform Terms, the DPDP Act 2023 (India), GDPR (EU/UK), and CCPA (California).
1. What This Page Covers
You can request deletion of:
- Your CRIYO account and all associated data
- Your connected Instagram account's data we have stored
- Your leads, automations, resources, forms, and bio page content
- Your billing history (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Any personal information we hold about you
2. How to Delete Your Account
2.1 Option 1 — Self-Service Deletion (Recommended)
- Log in to CRIYO at criyo.ai
- Go to Settings → Account
- Scroll to the bottom and click "Delete My Account"
- Confirm your decision
Your account will be marked for deletion immediately. Your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
2.2 Option 2 — Email Deletion Request
If you cannot access your account, email us:
- To: support@criyo.ai
- Subject: "Data Deletion Request"
- Body: Include the email address associated with your CRIYO account and any additional identifying information (e.g., your Instagram handle)
We will verify your identity (to prevent unauthorized deletion), process the deletion within 30 days, and send you a confirmation email when deletion is complete.
2.3 Option 3 — Disconnect Instagram Only
If you only want to remove your Instagram data (without deleting your CRIYO account):
- Log in to CRIYO
- Go to Settings → Instagram Connection
- Click "Disconnect Account"
Your Instagram access tokens will be revoked immediately, and all Instagram-related data will be deleted within 30 days. Your CRIYO account, billing records, and other non-Instagram data will remain.
2.4 Option 4 — Revoke Access via Instagram
You can also revoke CRIYO's access through Instagram:
- Open Instagram
- Go to Settings → Apps and Websites → Active
- Find "CRIYO" and click "Remove"
This immediately revokes our API access. Within 30 days, we'll receive a notification from Meta and delete your Instagram-related data.
3. What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account or request data deletion, we permanently remove:

4. What We Retain (and Why)
Some data is retained even after account deletion, but only as required by law:

Retained data is fully anonymized or kept securely separated from active systems.
5. Meta's Data Deletion Callback
CRIYO is registered with Meta's Data Deletion Callback system. If Meta sends us a deletion request on behalf of an Instagram user, we:
- Receive the request through Meta's official callback URL
- Identify and locate all associated data
- Delete the data within 30 days
- Return a confirmation code to Meta
You can also trigger this process through Instagram's settings (see Section 2.4).
6. Confirming Deletion
After your deletion request is processed you will receive a confirmation email at the address on file, your account will no longer appear in our system, login attempts using your old credentials will fail, and any active subscriptions will be canceled (no refunds — see Refund Policy).
7. Restoring a Deleted Account
If you have second thoughts during the 30-day deletion window, contact support@criyo.ai immediately and we will attempt to halt the process.
8. Data Deletion for Followers (Lead Privacy)
If someone whose information you've captured as a lead in CRIYO requests deletion:
- They can email support@criyo.ai directly to request removal
- As a CRIYO user, you are also responsible for honoring deletion requests from your leads under applicable data protection laws
- We provide tools in your Leads CRM to permanently delete individual lead records
9. Questions or Issues
We will respond within 5 business days.
10. Your Other Privacy Rights
Beyond deletion, you have additional rights described in our Privacy Policy, including the right to access, correct, and export your data.
